Walking Through the City of Portland
I love living in northwest Portland. I am in walking distance of the downtown, the Pearl District, the waterfront, Pioneer Courthouse Square, Powell's book store, the 24 Hour Club where I swim, Fred Meyer (where I shop), Providence Park (where the Timbers and Thorns play). Though I am drawn to the vast, open, treeless, pine and juniper scented high desert, I am also, in contradictory fashion, drawn to the life of a city.

One of my favorite pastimes in the late afternoon or early evening is to go for a walk; and when I walk, I usually carry my camera. Sometimes I take pictures with my iPhone. But no iPhone can take pictures like my point and shoot (Canon G7 Mark II), or, when I am really inspired, my full-frame Canon 6D.
These pictures were all taken on various walks through the city. Some are pretty straightforward, and others are a bit fanciful (with some tweeking in Lightroom or ON1).

And as they say on Car Talk, welcome to my fair city: Portland. Enjoy the walks!
