1979 - 1980

As a seminarian, my theological studies and my priestly formation took place at The Pontifical North American College (NAC) and the Gregorian University in Rome. As a seminarian, I lived at the new college residence on the Janiculum Hill (built in 1953). As a graduate student, I lived at the Casa Santa Maria, the original college building founded in 1859, a former convent dedicated in 1613, in Rome's historic center.

Five of my classmates from the the North American College (class of 1977) were with me at the Casa, 1979-1980. Four of us attended the Jesuit Gregorian University, and two of my classmates (Tim and Kevin) attended the Academia Ecclesiastica, the Vatican's diplomatic school.
