In the summer of 2003 I had just returned from Rome and my position as a spiritual director at the North American College. That summer I continued my vacations with Msgr. Dennis Metzger, a classmate and a priest of the Diocese of Toledo. Dennis came out to Portland, and we headed north to Vancouver, B.C., one of our favorite cities. As luck would have it, Dennis found a discount at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel where we stayed. From there, off to Kamloops and Banff in the Canadian Rockies. Finally, a nice rest and "cure" at Harrison Hot Springs in B.C.
