Jenny Lake (estimated at 256 feet deep) was formed about 12,000 years ago by glaciers pushing rock debris to form a canyon and a moraine. The lake is a focal point in the park, with a visitor center, boat rides, and hiking trails. Because of the number of visitors to Jenny Lake and to the park, and the lack of parking, this was my first visit to Jenny Lake. I rose before dawn and arrived at the lake just before sunrise. As the sun rose, I hit the trail circling the lake, having it virtually to myself. The light was perfect, as you can see, and my pictures (I humbly think) reflect the awesome beauty of the lake and the park itself.
