Inverness on the banks of the River Ness, is a beautiful city when seen from the sides of the river. To go beyond the river one finds a kind of gritty, commercial, working city that reflects the hardiness of the Highland people. I liked the city because I got some great shots at sunset, with a golden light shining on Inverness Castle (left) and some historic churches. The deep blue river was as cold as it looks; but the warmth of the brick, the friendly pedestrian bridge, and the smiles of the people made this city one of my favorite stops on the pilgrimage.
