Glacier National Park is one of my favorite places in the United States. Only a day and half drive from Portland, it is nonetheless a world away. My first day at the park was wet, but the second began with a beautiful sunrise. I treated myself to stay at two historic hotels—Many Glacier Hotel (1915) was particularly impressive. The Going-To-The-Sun Road is an engineering feat and one of the world's great scenic highways. I look forward to my return!
