I had heard that, because of the amount of rain in the California desert this year, the flowers in Death Valley National Park would be spectacular. In fact, Manley Lake, which dried up thousands of years ago, has reformed on the floor of Badwater Basin (282 ft below sea level). As it was, and it was coincidental, I was traveling to Death Valley at very time the flowers bloomed, and they were gorgeous. I limited the number of pictures I posted here because "a little bit goes a long way," and one picture begins to look like another. However, the few I posted give a pretty good idea of the beauty—as far as the eye can see.
