One of my priorities on our trip to Ireland was to stay in a castle. When I was growing up, a priest friend of our family used to drop off a magazine called "Ireland of the Welcomes." I loved the pictures of castles, and I couldn't wait for the day when I would see one. Well, my dream came true when we stayed at Ballynahinch, more of a country house than a castle, but no matter. Situated on a 450 acre estate in Connemara, it was everything I hoped for—and more!
