Auckland, New Zealand, is a major city of 1.4 million inhabitants. While Europeans make up the plurality of Auckland's population, the city became multicultural in the late-20th century, with Asians accounting for 31% (Auckland has the fourth largest foreign-born population in the world with 39% of its residents born overseas). The city is also home to the biggest ethnic Polynesian population in the world (I took the picture at left at the Auckland airport to illustrate this). I only had one full day to explore the city, but it is certainly worth another visit.
