Adelaide was my point of arrival in Australia and also my point of departure. A city of 1.3 million, it is the capital of the state of South Australia in the southeast corner of the country. Founded in 1836, the city is known as the "City of Churches," recognizing its diversity of faiths. Adelaide is also known for its many festivals, its parks, its sporting events, and its food and wine. The few pictures I have of the city indicate the short amount of time I spent here. The night before I departed, my host, Joe, treated me and his son, Lorenzo, to a delicious departure dinner. I hope one day to return to Adelaide and to experience all that it has to offer.
